Short Story Hit!

Hooray! My story was Commended in the Southport Writers short story competition. No money and no publication but my story was in the top 14 of 277 entries so that's an achievement in itself in my book. Very happy. And now I can chance the story in another competition.

Was struggling to get my third story written for the Eurofiction competition tonight but the hit news has buoyed me up...hopefully I'll finish it now!

Yay! Good for you! It must feel great to know that those in the know see something good in your writing. I have only ever entered one competition and I received a lovely certificate of participation but that, unfortunately, was it. Even so, it was nice knowing that other people had read it.

Yay, congratulations! Commended is a great sign, means your story is objectively very good but just wasn't quite to the judge's taste, which is completely subjective. Well done!
