Signed, sealed, delivered...

I'm yours! Or they're mine (depending on how you view the author/agent relationship!).

Two contracts (one for me to send back, one for me to keep), a covering letter and a map showing me how to get to the offices arrived this morning.

Here's me signing the contract this morning. I felt like I should do it with some kind of fancy pen (but I don't have a fancy pen so made do with my favourite ballpoint!)

The contract is now in the post, winging its way to London.

Is it sad that I've already framed the letter that says "Welcome to the Agency!" and put it on my desk?

*grins*

I've been asked to send the agent the first 3 chapters of novel #2 so am currently working through it, desperately trying to polish it (considering it's a first draft) and worrying that it's not nearly as compelling/funny/loveable as novel #1! Oh that getting an agent meant you stopped worrying about your writing being shit!

W00T! That's so exciting Cal, and so well-deserved. And nope, I think framing the letter is a lovely idea. I'm sure novel #2 is brilliant and make sure to keep us all posted on your journey - I love hearing it all!

I don't think it's sad at all. I'm sure I'd photocopy it hundreds of times and wallpaper my room with it (now that probably is a little extreme).

So thrilled for you.

I would frame it and put it in my lounge so I would always see it. And put a copy next to my laptop where I write. And a copy in my bag so I could look at it when I am out and about and show to random people in the queue in Boots or Next!

Dear Cal
Just read up on your blog from Debs, so pleased for you, getting an agent is truly fantastic! As for framing the letter..well I am filing my rejection letters in a brand new snazzy lever arch file...imagine what I might do with an acceptance!!! Soooo pleased for you, well done

Fantastic, Cal! Like the others, I think I'd make loads of copies and have them littered about my person.

You should definitely treat yourself to a new fancy pen, I think!
